The following are some comments left by signees, edited for spelling in some instances and for language in others. Slang was left intact for the most part.

Option 3. It's bad enough with the high rates much less to have to pay for callls not made by you on your phone. This happened to me on two occasions and i had to pay the bill or they were going so far as to cut my service without caring.

Local Call Billing Details is a must and this should go hand in hand with a standard local rate e.g. 25cents unlimited. So too is free dialing of emergency numbers even if certain lines have restrictions. Of most importance is the removal of monthly rental unit charges and giving the customer the option to purchase his/her own unit(s). More reliable and faster internet service is overdue.

I believe #1 is the most important. However the answer for this is not black and white as a lot of ppl would make it to be, in this case YES. The real answer to this is the monopoly needs to be weakened. It is almost impossible for any new competitor to implement a total Land network to service T&T domestic users (there is packet switching technology which can be offered to Industrial and commercial companies though). However TSTT fuel T&T economy and if the Telecomm market becomes flooded with Foreign Service Providers then our country will be taken away from us, like our oil resources to BPTT. But we cannot sit and be taken advantage of by TSTT monopoly; REGULATED competitors must be introduced to our Telecomm industry/market. I am fearful that the person(s) awarded this immense power of regulation will soon fall victim to corruption, as that is the trend in T&T. Also the Telecommunication minister is a lawyer! What does he know or even wants to learn about Telecomm. –) Wrong person in the right place.

Internet Access. TSTT is an enterprise which has utilized unethical business practices to maintain their competitive position. They have been unable to provide reliable, quality service, because of their insufficient systems capacity and capability to handle current market growth. Simply put, this is a classic case of over subscription with poor customer service support. No one at TSTT accepts responsibility or even attempts to deliver the customer's requirements.

The government needs to break up the TSTT monopoly. Of course the government of T&T owns 51% of TSTT. Another issue is whether or not two telephone companies co-exist in a such a small island and make a profit? Other companies may not see it as a profit making venture. The cost of setting up, etc. And then it falls back on the government to introduce regulations. *sighs* I wish I could afford DSL

TSTT continues to provide a poor monopolised service . Internet access is very very poor . I can't believe I continue to pay for Unlimited access and can't even connect !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!TSTT ,What are you going to do about this !!!!

ALL ARE IMPORTANT. But tops on my list are the rates being charged. They are the most ridiculous I have ever come across, and let's not get into the ADSL charge of $600 +.Imagine in 2002, TSTT still has customers in residential areas who are not able to get proper copper lines and therefore are connecting at 28.8Kbps and paying the same rates. Sometimes you're in the midst of a conversation and WHAM the line is dead. I think it's time TNT wakes up. Overseas when companies tried to introduce DSL and people thought the prices were too high, the idea had to be scrapped...people were just not going to pay exorbitant rates.

1) Full and complete disclosure of local call billing unless and until a reasonable un-inflated flat fee is implemented for local calls.
2) A minimum of 10 hours on weekdays and 6 hours on Saturday for telephone customer service calls concerned with single-line business or residential service. Weekdays 8am-4pm is inadequate to meet our needs.
3) Free emergency (999, 990) calls on all telephones, regardless of call restrictions or service disconnection.
4) Better rates for hourly or unlimited Internet access.
5) Faster, more reliable Internet access.
6) Telephone bill query through 800-BILL should be functional even if telephone service is disconnected since a monthly charge is still being assessed for the telephone service.
7) Accountability - Your customer service representatives must be made accountable if repair requests are not submitted when requested. This will ensure that customers do not have to continually re-submit repair requests.
